Muntjac deer spotted near Jubilee Cottages.

Emma Rolph had a bit of a shock when a small deer ran in front of her car. Later checking on the internet Emma dicovered the deer in question was a Muntjac.

So keep a camera handy and your binoculars ready as you never know what you may see in Paglesham.

Information

The Muntjac (Muntiacus reevesi) otherwise known as a "barking deer" is small, stocky and a russet brown colour in the summer. It is a solitary animal and is not native to Britain. The Muntjac was introduced from China early in the 20th century and is actually classed as a bit of a nuisance.
